DESCRIPTION:Limited numbers so book early here\nThe workshop will cover:\nSelecting the best plant material – a practical session as we walk around the gardens looking for good cutting material\nBest methods to take cuttings – how to trim your cuttings for best rooting of new plants\nHome setup for good success with cuttings –  proven ways to ensure survival and rooting of cuttings in the home environment\nPotting mix for cuttings – what works in individual environments. Including natives vs exotics.\nFertilising cuttings – ensuring cuttings become plants\nPotting up – when and how to pot up a cutting so it lives \nA lot to take in as it will be so hands on\, so we will break for morning tea with home made delights from our SHBG baking friends.\nAt the end of the day you take home an SHBG bag including propagation mix\, propagating pots\, printed step by step guide to plant propagation and some cutting material to try at home.\nGloves essential and your own secateurs. Bring a hat\, wear a T-shirt\, have a jumper and raincoat in your bag and ski tracks for the car – you know the weather in the highlands!\nIf the weather is inclement the workshop will be held in the new education building – with heating! \nCost $70 for Friends of the Garden\, $75 for non-Friends including morning tea and all materials\nFor further information click here

Also available are some hard to find plants\, plus quite a few old fashioned plants no longer available in nurseries. There will be plenty of opportunity to talk to our growers and Friends of the gardens to discuss what you need in your garden. \nAll produce at our cake stall is baked by our Cooking Friends of the gardens. \nBrowse the Rossendale garden handcraft stall for very handy gardeners aprons and more! \nCoffee and BBQ available for a breakfast roll or quick lunch after shopping. \nFree entry\, and the playground is always popular with children after visiting the nursery. \nGates open at 9am.
