Winter Plant Propagation Workshop

Sunday 19 July @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
$70 – $75

Limited numbers so book early here

The workshop will cover:
Selecting the best plant material – a practical session as we walk around the gardens looking for good cutting material
Best methods to take cuttings – how to trim your cuttings for best rooting of new plants
Home setup for good success with cuttings –  proven ways to ensure survival and rooting of cuttings in the home environment
Potting mix for cuttings – what works in individual environments. Including natives vs exotics.
Fertilising cuttings – ensuring cuttings become plants
Potting up – when and how to pot up a cutting so it lives

A lot to take in as it will be so hands on, so we will break for morning tea with home made delights from our SHBG baking friends.
At the end of the day you take home an SHBG bag including propagation mix, propagating pots, printed step by step guide to plant propagation and some cutting material to try at home.
Gloves essential and your own secateurs. Bring a hat, wear a T-shirt, have a jumper and raincoat in your bag and ski tracks for the car – you know the weather in the highlands!
If the weather is inclement the workshop will be held in the new education building – with heating!

Cost $70 for Friends of the Garden, $75 for non-Friends including morning tea and all materials
