Southern Highlands Autumn Gardens Weekend 2017

With the autumn leaves falling and beautiful mild days, it’s the perfect time to visit the Southern Highlands, especially when there are gardens to explore.

Three town gardens — Carisbrooke and Retford Park in Bowral and Yarrawin in Burradoo.

Three country gardens — Wildewood and Dragon Farm in Wildes Meadow and 5th Chapter Estate in Avoca.

Tickets available online at shbg.com.au and at each of the gardens on the day.

$40 full weekend pass provides entry to all 6 gardens

$8 single garden entry | Schoolchildren free

From Androsace to Zauschneria and everything in between, the SHBG Plant Fair offers an extraordinary array of plants grown by the SHBG Plant Growers Group.

Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens — corner of Old South Road & Kangaloon Road, Bowral.

Free entry. Plant crèche available.

Open from 9:00am–4:00pm

Invite your friends and family to our second 'Music in the Gardens' event in celebration of the National Botanic Garden Open Day.

Local community musicians include SHACapella, Three For Tea, Moss Vale High Singers, Oxley College String Orchestra, Wuka Plukas, Women Of Note, Daisy Chain and Bowral Drum Ensemble.

Entry is a gold coin donation.

Tea, coffee, cake and hot food will be available to purchase, or bring your own picnic.

John Olsen is an Australian artist of international repute and local Southern Highlands resident who generously donated the Leaping Frog sculpture to the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens Board.

Earth Hour will be celebrated with a wonderful artistic exhibition by local artists Heidi McGeoch and Sam Larwill with their Vessels of Change, displaying a glowing solar powered city streetscape you can walk around. This city streetscape will be created out of 44 gallon drums, with window cut-outs and solar lighting. A reminder that the Autumn Gardens Weekend and Plant Fair 2018 is on 21-22 April, 9am-4pm Experience some of the larger gardens in the district that merge with pastoral surroundings, and explore smaller town gardens.
